Courses are offered via two different methods;

1. Courses in the Community

Most of our courses are offered in various locations around the city of Nelson (“off-campus”). Instructions for registering for these courses are provided in the course descriptions, available online a few weeks before the start of each term. Also, instructions are sent out in the weekly membership emails ahead of registration.

2. Courses at Selkirk College

Some of our courses are offered at Selkirk College (“on-campus”). Registration may be done online, in person at the Silver King Campus at 2001 Silver King Road, or by telephone at 250 354-3220.

Here’s how to register online

Before you begin, ensure you have a current LiR Membership and have your Selkirk Student Number and PIN ready! If you are missing one of these, phone Selkirk at 250 354-3220.

1. When registration is open, visit Selkirk’s Learning in Retirement Course Registration page
2. Select your course(s) by clicking Add to Cart (Note, this link will only be avaible when registration opens for the semester).
3. To add more courses, click on Continue Shopping (at the bottom of the page).
4. When you have selected all of your on-campus courses, select Checkout.
5. You will then be prompted to Login using your Selkirk Student Number and PIN.
6. Once you are signed in, you will be guided through the Checkout process.
