Learning in Retirement is a non-profit organization run by seniors for seniors in Nelson and area.  It offers our 50+ community the chance to engage with others, explore new interests and learn new skills. 

Since 2020, instead of meeting at the Silver King Campus of Selkirk Collee, we have continued to meet virtually – giving our members a diverse program of speakers at Friday morning presentations, and many different interests in our online courses.  We have co-hosts who are assigned to assist members who are not familiar with navigating the Zoom platform. This provides an opportunity for seniors to connect with seniors during this difficult time of the pandemic.

In normal times we have outdoor activities and social events for our members and this is especially useful for newcomers to the area who want to meet people.  Membership to join Learning in Retirement is $15 annually.  Friday presentations are presently free online, and courses are subsidized through our partnership with Selkirk College.
